Wallpaper* x LG @ Somerset House | LDF

Production

Set designers Isabel + Helen created a series of experiential environments at London’s Somerset House with imaginative interpretations of the LG SIGNATURE OLED W, French Door Refrigerator and Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator, Wine Cellar, Washer & Dryer, Dryer, Air Purifier and Air Conditioner that explored the regenerative philosophy driving the LG SIGNATURE aesthetic of cutting-edge tech, architectural lines, tactile surfaces and grade-A material choices.

Additional sculptural and ambient effects referenced the LG SIGNATURE products’ minimalist and modernist forms, acknowledging the notion that technology, at its most sophisticated and refined, can engender a premium coalescence of science and art in both aesthetics and form.

In order to explore this idea in more depth, LG and Wallpaper* invited masters of their respective crafts to discuss the role that art and technology have played in their work.

With the discussion chaired by Wallpaper* technology editor Jonathan Bell, fellow speakers included head of LG Electronics H&A Design Lab Wook-jun Chung; renowned Italian architect Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas of Studio Fuksas; Matt Clark, founder of the United Visual Artists practice in London; and virtuoso watchmaker Antoine Preziuso, winner of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève Innovation and Public Prize awards. It was a gathering of world-class talent at the nexus of craft, design, innovation, architecture, technology and art.
